A zine (short for "fanzine") is a self-published, small-circulation publication, often created by individuals or small groups, that can include text, images, artwork, and other creative materials. It is made of pre-existing media.I don’t know much about art history or classic literature. Should I still apply?
YES! We have a page for accepted artists and writers in the discord to provide inspiration and ideas, no matter how familiar you are with a certain time period. We’re hoping that this zine serves as an easy, non-threatening way for people to learn about art history/movements and prominent themes in literary works throughout history. We hope the community we build fosters learning and new perspectives in all directions! We’re more than willing to work with you as you explore new art and writing styles, if you’re interested.What are we looking for in contributor submissions?

We anticipate the labor to create art and writing for this project will be more taxing than most other zines, given the research going into each contribution. We would like to honor the extra effort all of our contributors, moderators, and organizers gave to this project to make it as entertaining and educational as possible.
Why is this zine considered SFW?
While there likely will be nudity in this zine, it will all be nonsexual, and tasteful to the degree it emulates the pieces they’re inspired by. We do not anticipate any of our written or drawn pieces to dip into erotic/lewd territory.How do I join?

Guidelines
All contributors must be 18+ at the time of application.Contributor compensationContributor compensation is dependent on the level of success of the zine. At minimum, all contributors will receive a digital bundle of the Zine. Should sales allow, contributors will receive anything from a standalone physical Zine to a full bundle. We are striving to provide all who would like one a physical bundle. If we hit and exceed our break-even cost, profits will be divided between all contributors and moderators based on a ratio decided by all participants.General contributor guidelinesIf you need an extension for any of your pieces, please contact your mod(s) immediately.Communication will be kept to the Discord server, the link to which you will have received with your acceptance.DO NOT share any zine information outside the server. This includes wips, teasers, concepts, and discussions. Leaking will result in removal from the zine.Any bigotry will result in banning from both the server and the zine.
ANY AI CONTENT IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN. Any AI content will result in banning from both the server and the zine.Do not share your finished piece until you have been given the okay by your mods. We will make an announcement in the Discord once you’re free to share your work.
Prior to pre orders, when we’re promoting the project, we will ask you to submit a teaser for your work. We’ll help you decide what to use as a teaser if you’re unsure!Writer guidelinesYou will be expected to submit at least one completed work between 1k-2k words. This word limit is not hard and fast, but please do not go overboard! If you have any questions, let the writing and formatting mods know.Pitch at least three ideas. The kind of writing you pitch doesn’t matter, but will try to get as much variety as possible between fics, analyses, and poetry.Analyses contribution deadlines will be later than all other contribution submissions, as artists need to get their works in before analyses can be written.Page artist guidelinesYou will be expected to submit at least one completed work.
Pitch at least three ideas. The movement(s) you draw from will be assigned to you based on your application in order to ensure all our bases our covered.Your work must conform to an A5 template and be 300 dpi. We ask you colour in CMYK for printing purposes, but if you choose to provide an RGB version of your work for the digital Zine you are free to (optional). We will provide a template.If you would like a double-spread, please explicitly denote that in your pitch(es).Merch artist guidelinesMerch artists will be required to design at least two original pieces.
